About Legola Wildlife Reserve
We believe that attention to detail, quality and uniqueness are paramount and are therefor committed to the notion of excellence:
Excellence through experience and excellence through lifestyle.
It is our dream to develop and maintain this place: a sanctuary, not only for you, but also for our animals.
Nestling in the foothills of the acclaimed UNESCO Waterberg Biosphere in Limpopo, Legola Private Wildlife Reserve is an exclusive 6500 hectare private game reserve north-west from Gauteng in the Limpopo Province. It is within a three hour drive from OR Tambo International Airport and 45 minutes from the Botswana border.
Vast, peaceful and incredibly beautiful, the Waterberg region is a fascinating destination with a rich cultural legacy and heritage coupled with a natural splendor that is particularly appealing to those in need of a place to unwind.
First and foremost this is a wildlife sanctuary.
The following species of game roam freely and unhindered on Legola Private Wildlife Reserve:
Leopard, Buffalo, Sable, Brown Hyena, Eland, Kudu, Oryx, Giraffe, Zebra, Blue Wildebeest, Waterbuck, Impala, Klipspringer, Steenbuck, Warthog, Bushpig, Aardvark, Porcupine, smaller animals such as Tortoise, Dassie etc.
In addition to the larger animals the bird life is prolific. There are about 350 bird species found in the Waterberg region - almost 40% of Southern Africa's list.
